In Beatrice Prior’s dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is—she can’t have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.
The Splendor Fallser skrevet av Rosemary Clement – Moore. Her er det

Jeg liker coveret.
ballett, sørstatsgotikk og kanskje spøkelser?
Fra coveret:
Sylvie Davis is a ballerina who cant’t dance. A broken leg ended her career – but Sylvie’s pain runs deeper. What broke her heart was her father’s death, and what’s breaking her spirit is her mother’s remarriage.
Uprooting her from their Manhattan apartment and shipping her off to Alabama is her mother’s solution for Sylvie’s unhappiness. Her father’s cousin is restoring a family home in a town rich with her family’s history. As it turns out, the Davises have a richer history than Sylvie ever imagined. More unnerving, though, are the two guys she can’t stop thinking about. Shawn Maddox, the resident golden boy, seems perfect in every way. But Rhys, a handsome, mysterious foreign guest of her cousin’s, has a hold on Sylvie that she doesn’t quite understand.
Then Sylvie starts seeing things. A girl down by the lake. A man peering into the window. And a graveyard with an oddly placed headstone. Sylvie has lost nearly everything – is she starting to lose her mind as well?
Lena Duchannes is unlike anyone the small Southern town of Gatlin has ever seen, and she’s struggling to conceal her power, and a curse that has haunted her family for generations. But even within the overgrown gardens, murky swamps and crumbling graveyards of the forgotten South, a secret cannot stay hidden forever.
Ethan Wate, who has been counting the months until he can escape from Gatlin, is haunted by dreams of a beautiful girl he has never met. When Lena moves into the town’s oldest and most infamous plantation, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her and determined to uncover the connection between them.
In a town with no surprises, one secret could change everything.
The Greyfriar er den første boka i serien Vampire Empireav Clay & Susan

Goggels og dampdrevede luftskip!
Griffith.
In 1870, monsters rise up and conquer the northern lands, As great cities are swallowed up by carnage and disease, landowners and other elite flee south to escape their blood-thirsty wrath. One hundred fifty years later, the great divide still exists; fangs on one side of the border, worried defenders on the other. This fragile equilibrium is threatened, then crumbles after a single young princess becomes almost hopelessly lost in the hostile territory. At first, she has only one defender: a mysterious Greyfriar who roams freely in dangerous vampire regions.
General Sternwood has four million dollars, and two young daughters, both pretty and both wild. He’s an old, sick man, close to death, but he doesn’t like being blackmailed. So he asks private detective Philip Marlowe to get the blackmailer off his back.
Marlowe knows the dark side of life in Los Angeles well, and nothing much suprises him. But the Sternwood girls are a lot wilder than their old father realizes. They like men, dring, drugs – and it’s not just a question of blackmail.

GOD HELG!
